“Jan tried to force a smile. “It’s just that as a mother, I worry, y’know?”

Ron admired her small, thin figure. Her black hair was starting to turn gray and Ron thought that made her more attractive.
For being a single, working mother in her late thirties, Dr. Brighton was quite a success story. That scared Ron sometimes.

“I get it,” he said. “Thanks for not adding ‘Wait until you are a mother’.”

“Aw, you already are a mother, Ron.”

They both laughed.

Why do I even open my mouth some days, Ron asked himself. I shouldn’t have brought up scouts. She probably hates me for mentioning it.

My apologies for any typos - remember this will be cleaned up (er, hopefully) at press time! If you want more, hang in there! The entire novel will be out soon! Thanks for taking the time to read it and drop me an email as to what you like, what you didn't like and what you would like to see in future Inappropriate Library stories! And by the way, YOU ROCK!!!!

Sincerely, Kim Greenblatt
